Super Metroid<\/b><\/i><\/sup><\/sup>\u00a0is an\u00a0action-adventure game\u00a0developed by\u00a0Nintendo\u00a0and\u00a0Intelligent Systems\u00a0and published by Nintendo for the\u00a0Super Nintendo Entertainment System\u00a0in 1994. It is the third installment in the\u00a0Metroid<\/i>\u00a0series, following the events of the\u00a0Game Boy\u00a0game\u00a0Metroid II: Return of Samus<\/i>\u00a0(1991). Players control bounty hunter\u00a0Samus Aran, who travels to planet Zebes to retrieve an infant\u00a0Metroid creature\u00a0stolen by the\u00a0Space Pirate\u00a0leader\u00a0Ridley.<\/p>\n

Following the established gameplay model of its predecessors,\u00a0Super Metroid<\/i>\u00a0focuses on exploration, with the player searching for power-ups used to reach previously inaccessible areas. It introduced new concepts to the series, such as the inventory screen, an\u00a0automap, and the ability to fire in all directions. The development staff from previous\u00a0Metroid<\/i>\u00a0games\u2014including\u00a0Yoshio Sakamoto,\u00a0Makoto Kano\u00a0and\u00a0Gunpei Yokoi\u2014returned to develop\u00a0Super Metroid<\/i>\u00a0over the course of two years. The developers wanted to make a true action game, and set the stage for Samus’s reappearance.<\/p>\n

Super Metroid<\/i>\u00a0is a\u00a02D\u00a0side-scrolling\u00a0action-adventure game,<\/sup><\/sup>\u00a0which primarily takes place on the fictional planet Zebes from the original game\u2014a large,\u00a0open-ended\u00a0world with areas connected by doors and elevators.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The player controls\u00a0Samus Aran\u00a0as she searches the planet for a\u00a0Metroid\u00a0that has been stolen by\u00a0Ridley, the leader of the\u00a0Space Pirates.<\/sup>\u00a0Samus can run, jump, crouch, and fire a weapon in eight directions; she can also perform other actions, such as\u00a0wall jumping\u2014jumping from one wall to another in rapid succession to reach higher areas. The “Moon Walk” ability, named after the popular\u00a0dance move of the same name, allows Samus to walk backwards while firing or charging her weapon.<\/sup><\/p>\n

Throughout the course of the game, the player can acquire\u00a0power-ups\u00a0that enhance Samus’s armor and weaponry, as well as grant her special abilities, allowing them to gain access to areas that were previously inaccessible.<\/sup>\u00a0The Morphing Ball allows Samus to curl into a ball and roll into tight places; while in this form, she can plant bombs once a Bomb power-up is acquired. The Spring Ball adds the ability to jump while in Morphing Ball form.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The Speed Booster can be used to run at high speeds and crash into barriers and enemies.<\/sup>The Hi-Jump Boots allow for a higher jump, and the Space Jump allows Samus to jump in midair.<\/sup>\u00a0The Grapple Beam can be used to swing across open areas.<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0X-ray\u00a0Scope is used to see items and passages through hidden walls and other surfaces.<\/sup><\/p>\n

The\u00a0heads-up display\u00a0shows Samus’s\u00a0health, the supply mode for Reserve Tanks, icons that represent weapons, and a map display showing her location and its surroundings.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The inventory screen allows the player to enable and disable weapons and abilities. While the beam weapons can be combined, the Spazer and Plasma beams cannot be used simultaneously. At the game’s end, Samus obtains the Hyper Beam, a powerful weapon generated by the energy given to her by the “super Metroid”, the matured version of the larval creature that she seeks over the course of the game.<\/sup><\/sup>\u00a0The backup units called Reserve Tanks can be used automatically when Samus’s health is depleted.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The game also features an\u00a0automap\u00a0to help players navigate the different areas of the game. Additionally, the player can use the map computer found in each part of the planet to reveal unexplored areas.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0To\u00a0save\u00a0their progress, the player must find and use one of the save stations scattered around the planet.<\/sup>\u00a0The game can also be saved at Samus’s\u00a0gunship, which fully recharges her health and ammunition as well. <\/sup>Super Metroid<\/i>\u00a0has three endings based on the time taken to complete the game, which determine whether Samus poses with or without her suit. The best ending is achieved when the game is completed under three hours.<\/sup>\u200a<\/span><\/sup> Additionally, an optional task alters the game’s end slightly. If the player chooses to rescue the Dachora and the Etecoons, friendly creatures encountered by Samus in the game, they are shown leaving the planet in the distance.<\/p>\n

Outwardly, the title is almost identical to that of the 90s while the gameplay is exactly the same. It has a brand new CHIP.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product addresses to Nintendo fans that want to complete their collection of SNES games but due to rarity they didnt have the opportinity to get\u00a0 them.<\/p>\n
